Nuci's Space: Target Everyone?
I had the opportunity to work with Nuçi's Space, a non-profit organization based in Athens, Georgia. Nuçi's Space came to fruition when the Phillips family opened their doors in honor of their son Nuçi, who had committed suicide. Nuçii's Space is a venue for local artists and also serves as a safe place for victims of mental illnesses.
My team and I met up with one of the directors at Nuçi's to get a better idea of what their goals were and discuss how we could help them achieve those goals.
We were blown away after speaking with the director. The organization dedicated their time, effort, and gracious souls to make Nuçi's a success. The director was doing an adequate job online and on social media -- especially for someone who didn't own a phone...
She told us that they were understaffed and could never see managing social media as a priority. With all the work that these people do, we completely understood! But... Social media is a necessity, especially in this day and age. And when we asked her what kind of people Nuçi's was targeting, she told us, "Everyone!" My team members and I exchanged worrisome looks; step one of any marketing plan is to have a specific target market.
So after our meeting, we sat down to discuss how we could narrow down the "everyone" target market into something more manageable like college students and local musicians. After choosing the types of people that would be best to target, it was easier for us to think of creative ways to attract them. We wanted to exemplify Nuci's efforts and create more events that could be posted and shared on their social media pages. Hence, an excess of these Puppies & Poetry post mock ups that I've created. Combining forces with another non-profit (that could provide furry happiness counselors) and local poets would be a hit amongst the Athens community.
